This program originated from a series of work focused on the brain and how sensory input is received and processed. I was interested in the chaos and raw volume of visual input. What we receive through our eyes is staggering, from a data perspective. Our visual cortex manages to sort through this tidal wave, piece it together, and tie bits of visual stimuli to existing ideas, concepts and patterns.

I find the ability to instantly recognize general patterns despite a huge volume of visual noise intriguing. In this case, even slight shifts in the probabilities of various colors are immediately perceived as a gradient with a centerpoint.
