Unofficial Print Tips
We think the best way to view the art is as a print.
See our recommendations below for producing a quality piece almost as good as an official print!
Official prints are produced to Tyler’s specifications with a trusted professional shop. Each print is inspected and signed by Tyler and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
Choosing A PRINTER
Find a local printer that specializes in fine-art printing and can work with your size requirements. You should look for words like “giclee prints” or confirm they use high-quality tools like large-format Epson printers. We ask that you don’t use companies that print posters or do commercial printing (Kinkos or Fed-Ex).
Paper
Paper is SUPER important! We suggest using a smooth, hot-pressed, matte paper, like Hahnemuhle Etching Paper. Your printer should be able to guide you through the options they have available that fit these requirements.
Handling
After the piece is printed, be very careful. The dark colors can scuff easily and light areas show dirty fingerprints. Keep it stored safely until you’re ready to frame it.
Framing
Framing is personal and should take into account the style of your space, however, our motto is “keep it simple”. We like wide mats or float mounts with a simple birch, walnut, or white frame. The bigger the piece is the deeper the frame should be.
While a little more expensive, we recommend anti-reflective glass or acrylic. It’s worth it!
